Lessons Learned from the 5th Floor CCU Waiting Room

Monday, May 4, 2009

Well, my dad died a little over a week ago. As stated in my previous post, life goes on--unfortunately. It seems like it should stop. It seems like everyone should stop what they are doing and understand that my dad just died and my family and I are experiencing a lot of pain. This pain causes me to reflect and what I realize is that I cannot imagine what it was like for God when His Son died on the cross. God had the power to make everyone stop and take notice, but He didn't. Instead, He chose to forgive. He chose to offer forgiveness to those that did not stop and take notice. This brings me to another lesson learned from the fifth floor waiting room. I am not God! If I were God, I would make everyone stop, but life does not work that way. While I am not God, I know who is God! I have found Him to be trustworthy. I have found Him to be faithful. I have found that part of living is dying and that is what happened to my dad, but I know dad is with Jesus. I also know that God is taking care of us here on earth. Lesson #2: I am not God!
